This is a page on the Country of Oman. Here you will find facts on Oman. When we heard that the MALCOLM BALDRIGE was sailing to that country, we wanted to know more about it. One day we would like to visit this beautiful country. If any of our readers live in Oman, we hope they will write to us.

Muscat is the capital of Oman. This is the city where the MALCOLM BALDRIGE made port. Muscat is found in the NorthEastern part of Oman.

The flag has a vertical red stripe and three horizontal stripes of white, red, and green. The national emblem, which features crossed swords and a dagger, appears at the top of the vertical stripe. Below is the a picture of Oman's flag.

Here is a Map of Oman. The official language of Oman is Arabic. The official name of Oman is Saltanat Uman (Sultanate of Oman).

The elevation is 9,957 above sea level at its highest point which is at Jaba Ash Sham.Its lowest point is sea level.The estemated population is 1992 was 1,568,000; density, 19 people per square mile (7 people per kilometer).

The Chief products are:
AGRICULTURE: alfsta, bananas, cocanuts, dates, limes,onians, pomegranets, tobacco, and wheat.

FISHING INDUSTRY: sardines, cod, and sharks.

MINING: petroleun, natural gas, copper, and chromite.

The National Anthem is "Nashid as-Salaam as-Sultani" ("Sultan's National Anthem").
