Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. Australia has 12 major ports and 9 major airfields. Australia has a low population and is very dense. The coastline is estimated to be 12,000 miles long. Australia is primarily a flat, low-lying plateau about 600 meters above sea level. It has three major physical regions. They are the vast Western Plateau, the Eastern Highlands and the Great Artesian Basin. The vegetation is mostly hard-leaf evergreen plants and 600 species of eucalyptus trees and 800 species of acacia trees. They are called gum trees in Australia. Some animals in Australia are Tasmanian wolf, kangaroos, wallabees, koalas, wombats, platypus, cockatoo, lyrebird, kookaburras and various parrots. Some mineral resources are coal, iron ore, zinc, lead, nickel, copper, natural gas, petroleum, opals, bauxite and sapphires.

Weasel

The main language in Australia is English. Other languages spoken are aboriginal languages. Some religions are Roman Catholic, Anglican and other Protestant sects. They have free education from ages 6 to 15. There are some private schools. They have excellent public and private health care. Their economy is quite diverse.

South Australia is cool with isolated showers, mild and mostly sunny in the north. There are frequently fresh southwest to southeast winds. Western Australia has a minium temperature of 17 degrees and a maxium temperature of 28 degrees. There is a good chance of rain in the afternoons, early winds and afternoon sea breezes, and a high danger of fire. The climate is very sunny and cool.
