Discovery Middle School in Orlando, Florida, welcomes you to a holiday celebration...

Florida Style!

Christmas is a little different in Florida. Some people in other states shovel snow off the sidewalks and have to wear thick jackets because it is so cold. But in Florida it rarely gets below 50 degrees F., and you can swim any time you want. You never really need to wear a jacket unless your house is cold.

Some of us have fireplaces, even though we don't get to use them that often. We get excited when the weather gets cool enough for a toasty fire.

Multicultural Melting Pot

We are lucky to have students from many different cultures at Discovery Middle School. The picture below was created by Terry, Huang. Her family celebrates Chinese New Year! Can you read her signs??? Check back later for a translation.
