My Cultural Heritage

Robert Navarro

My dad's name is Rene Navarro. He was born on August 28, in 1949 in Venezuela. He has 4 brothers and two sisters who live there now. He went through elementary to college in Caracas, Venezuala. He lived there for 36 years. Then he moved to Raleigh, went to N.C.S.U. and graduated in 1980. He got a master's degree in science. His current job is Agricultural Research Technician at the crop science department at Method Road in Raleigh. He married my mom in 1980 and they went back to Venezuala.

My sister and I were both born in Caracas. We lived there till 1985 when we moved back to Raleigh. The most exciting thing that happened to him was coming to America.

The world event that he remembers most is man landing on the moon. He speaks really good English and he doesn't have much of an accent that I notice. His role model is Simon Bolivar who liberated many countries in South America. That is just about all about my dad.
