Nigeria, Africa

by Marquita Mbonu

My family on my Dad's side comes from Nigeria. He was born in Africa, in the town of Enugu. He was 21 when he came to America. He came here because he wanted to explore a new country and get a good education. (He is now a Doctor.)

He has two sisters and a mother who are still in Nigeria. They are now farmers . His two sisters sold clothes like those head pieces and those scarfs you wear on your shoulder. His dad is in Nigeria, too, and they used to hunt the plains of Africa all the time. When they hunted, they saw leopards, but of course they didn't shoot them. I have never met these people, but my Mom tells me about them.

I searched the Internet for information about my dad's homeland, and this is what I found. This link will take you to pictures of village life at Obong Ntak, Nigeria! The pictures take a while to load, but they are worth the wait.
