Green River, Wyoming

This is a picture of the town of Green River. The big rock sticking up at the left side of the picture is Castle Rock, a landmark of this area. The green on the hills is the sagebrush that is so abundant in this area. The road shown is Interstate-80, and you can see the Union Pacific train that runs through the town. In the foreground is the Green River which really isn't green. During the winter, some people think we should call it the White River because it's frozen. Picture by David Hernandez and Caleb Bently.

Canberra, Australia

This is a typical scene of Canberra. From nearly anywhere in Canberra you can see Telecom Tower (left) and the flag pole on top of Parliament House (right). Canberra is a very green and hilly place. It is known as the Bush Capital. If you were to fly over Canberra you would see lots of tree tops and just a few houses. Canberra is a planned city and in the centre is a man made lake named after the person who planned Canberra, Lake Burley Griffin. Canberra has lots and lots of bicycle paths which are used all the time. The sun sets over the hills surrounding Canberra and looks beautiful. By Julie Rummukainen and Kristen Wegener
